Campaigning underway for Wombourne by-election

Claire McIlvenna and team have been busy leafleting and canvassing voters in Wombourne South-East ahead of the by-election on 28 October.

Saturday 16 October was a busy day for Claire and the team of 17 Green Party members and volunteers who joined her to drop leaflets and speak to more than 300 residents. Claire is hoping to win a seat on South Staffordshire District Council at the by-election on 28 October 2021.

Claire said, "It was such a fantastic day. Feedback from residents was overwhelmingly positive. Many of them highlighted that I was the first candidate they'd received literature from or seen in-person on the doorstep."

If elected, Claire vows to fight inappropriate parking, prioritise vehicle crime and improve Wombourne's roads. She's also against housing developments on the green belt.

"It's gone too far," said Claire, "Wombourne has had so much development in recent years and the infrastructure already can't cope. Not to mention the loss of our beautiful countryside and the ecosystems it supports. If elected to District Council, I vow to oppose any new green belt developments in Wombourne."

Claire will be out again delivering literature to voters in-person on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th October. If you're available and want to help, Claire would really appreciate your support. Please contact Ian who can supply you with leaflets and maps at ianfrom55@gmail.com or on 07961972629.

The by-election takes place on Thursday 28 October for voters in Wombourne South-East.
