Claire is standing in May 2021 election

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

Claire has announced that she's standing in the South Staffordshire County Council election on May 6.

Having spent the past two years as a Parish Councillor for Wombourne South West, Claire's eager to widen her influence with a seat on the County Council.

Claire says, "It's been a fantastic couple of years. As the only non-Conservative on the Parish Council, it's been great to bring a new perspective to the team.

"I've focused my efforts on protecting green belt land, encouraging people to shop local, improving public transport, and getting climate change and other green issues onto the curriculum in local schools.

"Last election was an amazing result to be elected as Wombourne's first ever Green Councillor. Speaking to the people of Wombourne, many of whom I've known personally for years, it's clear that green issues are becoming more and more important to them.

"I'm eager to be elected as Wombourne's representative on the County Council, as I know that there's so much more that I can do for the village. I'll be busy over the next couple of months campaigning, and look forward to chatting with many of the people who I'm proud to represent."

The elections take place on 6 May 2021. If you're not registered to vote, you can do so here.
